K-CUPS / PODS / T-DISCS?
What is a K-Pod?
There is no such thing as a K-pod. There are K Cups, which are used for the Keurig coffee brewer and Coffee PODS, which are used for any POD coffee brewer. T-DISCS are a new single cup format only compatible with the TASSIMO brewer. Currently singlcupbrewing.com ONLY sells k-cups and pods; we do not offer Tassimo t-discs at this time. The below Tassimo information is ONLY for informational purposes.
Which is the best way to brew?
One thing is for sure, single cup coffee brewing is the ideal method for enjoying a hot and delicious cup of coffee. But there are several technologies available that allow you to enjoy that cup in under a minute. Which one is the best?

Keurig's K Cup Technology:
Freshly ground vacuum-sealed coffee and a special filtration system come together under one lid. This selection resembles a milk creamer but is a unique patented system allowing hot water from the Keurig machine to penetrate the lid (don't remove) and produce a perfect cup of coffee each time. Obvious features to this system include the ability to store cups out in the open and dispose of with ease and cleanliness. K Cups can only be brewed through the Keurig Machine. Several models of Keurig machines are currently available. All will keep a reservoir of hot water ready to blast through a k-cup to produce either a 5, 7, 9 or 11 oz. cup of coffee at your command.
Coffee Pods:
Weighing 10 to 12 grams and sizing at 61mm, this selection offers a wide variety of brew choices. Strong in popularity due to availability of brewers from top brands and multiple varieties from great coffee manufacturers, pod brewing is quickly growing to secure its name in single cup coffee market. Specially formulated filter paper surrounds freshly ground coffee to create coffee pods. These units are circular in shape. The coffee is ground to specific weight and oxygen is removed in the process to ensure maximum flavor and quality. Pods are accepted in a variety of brewers. Brand names like Grindmaster, BUNN, Melitta, KRUPS and Simplehuman are just a few of the manufacturers offering pod machines. Coffee Pods offer benefits to those who are price conscience, seek variety and enjoy hot fresh coffee at the touch of a
The Tassimo System (T-Discs):
Manufactured by Braun and brought to you by Kraft, this system has some big names behind its new technology. Individually vacuum sealed discs contain an exact portion of gourmet coffee within a carefully designed filter system. The T-DISC also contains a barcode on the label read by the brewer to indicate which beverage is selected telling the brewer how to prepare the beverage. Because of the way the T-DISCS and brewer are designed, the system has the ability of creating many types of gourmet beverages. Beverage choices include cappuccino, latte, crema, espresso, tea, signature blend coffee and hot chocolate. This system is ideal for a large family who varies in tastes as well as get-togethers and corporate meetings. Selectable brew sizes, replaceable water filter, removable water reservoir as well as dishwater safe parts lend this brew system to be a strong competitor against the others.

DECAFFEINATED COFFEE
How is the caffeine removed from coffee beans?
Our decaffeinated coffees are produced by a direct solvent process. The green beans are softened by steam and then flushed with methylene chloride to remove 97% of the caffeine. The methylene chloride is then drawn off, the beans are steamed a second time and then dry heated to evaporate almost all solvents.
Methylene Chloride is a solvent used in both the direct and indirect decaffeination methods. The methylene chloride process is thought by some in the coffee industry to maintain coffee flavor better than other processes. Based on extensive research data, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has determined that methylene chloride is safe for use in coffee decaffeination. While the FDA regulation allows up to 10 parts per million (ppm) residual methylene chloride, actual coffee industry practice results in levels 100 times lower than this amount.
Is there any caffeine in decaffeinated coffee?
A coffee must have at least 97% of its caffeine removed to qualify as decaffeinated coffee in the United States. Each five-ounce cup of decaffeinated, therefore, contains less than 5 milligrams of caffeine
Do you sell Water Processed Decaffeinated coffees?
At this time we do not offer a single serve water processed decaffeinated coffee.
FLAVORED COFFEE
What are flavored coffees made of?
The flavors we use are classified as Natural & Artificial. This combination enables us to make the best flavors. They are composed of ingredients which the Food & Drug Administration has deemed safe. The ingredients include essential oils and other plant derivatives as well as aromatic flavorings.
Do the flavors contain fat, cholesterol or calories?
All edible items present some caloric value. But the flavors in our coffees offer so little (less than one calorie per cup) as to be inconsequential. The flavors are essentially non-nutritive and don't contain fat or cholesterol.
Is there any lactose in your flavored coffees?
No, there is no lactose in any of our flavored coffees.
Are your flavors Kosher?
Coffee by its nature is Kosher. Additionally, all our flavorings are certified Kosher.
Is there gluten in your flavored coffee?
No, our flavored coffees do not contain gluten.
BEANS
Where do beans come from?
We use coffee beans from all over the world. Our beans come from countries such as Colombia, Costa Rica, Sumatra, Indonesia, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Brazil and Hawaii. Our beans are exclusively 100% Arabica which is superior in cup quality to the other principal commercial coffee species.
What is the difference between Arabica and Robusta beans?
There are two basic categories of coffee: Arabica and Robusta. Arabica beans (named for the Arabs) are considered to be of much greater quality and taste than Robusta beans. We only use 100% Arabica beans. Arabica beans are more flavorful and aromatic and have a sweet, acidic taste. They have less caffeine (about half the amount found in Robusta) and are predominately grown in higher elevations. These beans are extremely delicate and are threatened by, direct sunlight and disease – making them more difficult to grow and harvest. These hand-picked beans account for 75% of all world coffee production. Conversely, Robusta beans (named for their hardiness) have a strong, harsh, and bitter taste. They are grown in low altitudes and are much more resilient and disease-resistant that Arabica beans. These machine-harvested beans are mostly used in instant coffee and commercial blends.
Do you sell whole bean coffee?
At this time we only offer single serve coffee selections (k-cups or pods).
KOSHER
Are your coffees certified Kosher?
Yes, all of our coffees are certified Kosher.
